First-time home buyers can now get $4,000 off their new home purchase
New Ontario LTT Rebate
As of January 1st, 2017, the Ontario government has increased the land transfer tax rebate for first-time home buyers from $2,000 to $4,000. Effectively, this means that a first-time home buyer will NOT have to pay a provincial tax on homes sold for $368,000 or less.
REALTORS® throughout Ontario lobbied hard for the improved rebate and we are proud to say WE DID IT!
A new website has been created to promote this new rebate, which includes an informative video and calculator that can help you figure out how much tax relief you can claim on your first home.
The site is equipped with many great tools and information to help you get ready to get into the market as a first time buyer.
