Thornhill real estate buyers have design expections for 2015
A real estate agent’s job is a lot more than just buying and selling homes. They often act as design and décor consultants and must take the time to observe upcoming trends. As a real estate agent in Thornhill, I'm constantly looking for ways to sell my clients homes for more money and in less time. What seller wouldn't love having a bidding war on their home due to many competing offers?
Homeowners can stand out from the competition by remodeling their homes with new looks and styles this winter, incorporating upcoming trends in décor and design.
Here are 5 major new trends to watch out for in 2015:
-
Patterned Fabrics
When it comes to furniture and upholstery, patterned fabrics are ideal for creating a visual impact within any room. From floral to tropical, kaleidoscope, and other strong geometric forms, even adding a touch of patterned fabrics to a room is sure to enhance its look and make a bold statement. Patterned wallpaper fabrics are really in style right now.
- Colours
Although homes will be seeing a lot of diverse colours next year, they will tend to be less than vibrant. Muted pastels, pale blues, soft neutrals, metals, and smoky grays will be used to add a deep and sombre, yet intelligent, look to rooms.
- Matte Finishes
Adding a matte finish to the interior of a room is a growing new trend because it instantly gives the home a raw and edgy look. The addition of a matte finish can give lighting, furniture, accessories, or even entire rooms a redefined and attractive appeal.
-
Natural Influences
In order to make a home look authentic, more and more people are drawing inspiration from nature. Natural textures and accessories that are inspired by wood, fossils, animals, and vegetables bring organic elements into the home and create a harmonious environment between the home and the outdoors.
- Cultural Merging
Cultural diversity is something that many Canadians are proud of which is why it is not surprising that influences from different ethnic traditions are starting to have a major impact on home design. Cultural influences in 2015 are predicted to be drawn from Asian, African, Middle Eastern, and European traditions.
